Durham University's Project Sri LankaProject Sri Lanka is an 'all-inclusive' project. It brings together Durham University students and staff with community and regional partners in activities which aim to assist with the reconstruction and regeneration of tsunami-devastated communities in Southern Sri Lanka. It is grounded in humanitarian objectives. It has students and young people at the heart of it. It is underpinned by academic research and teaching in a wide range of disciplines which have relevance to understanding natural disasters and dealing with the effects of human tragedy. These are located around the country with one centre in each of the main regions: North: Anuradhapura, East: Monaragala, South: Galle, West: Piliyandala, Central: Nuwara Eliya.
