Business Sri Lanka receives many enquiries regarding travel to Sri Lanka and whether it is 'safe'. Given the security concerns that exist in many countries, including in Europe and the US, Sri Lanka is generally no different.
The security situation in and around Colombo is substantially less relaxed than a year ago. The security checkpoints are still in place but the number of stops are much less. Security in the area around Fort (World Trade Centre) has been enhanced and so travelling into that area is still slow. However, the rest of the city remains fairly relaxed.
